Anyone with links to these families for the Chilbolton area? Part of 'The Chilbolton Plait'. Looking for ancestors pre-1750.
red mail Michael Vince
My ancesters originated from Chilbolton around 1700.I wonder if the name was changed from Vincent to Vince. I do have an entry for a David Vincent and Margaret announcing the baptism of Mary on 8/7/1731 which I have traced through to the present dayand all the records show the name as 'Vince' I have a John Vince born in 1784 from my family which I have been unable to find out any information which may suggest that he was known as John Vincent? To have a Vincent and a Vince in such a small village would appear unlikely but of course not inpossible.Any comments would be helpful.
red mail Vincent m Tilbury
Martha Tilbury (born 1784) who married John Vincent, was the daughter of William T. and Margaret Knapp; this William T. MAY have been the brother of John T. who married Mary Young. Will ask a friend about Vincents.
red mail The Vincent Family
I am researching the Vincent family who lived in Chilbolton. The earliest date I have is 1811 when John Vincent married Martha Tilbury. Any further information would be of the greatest interest.
