I am trying to find the parents and ancestors of John Canning b. 1752 approx. who married Ann Hewlett and lived in Frampton on Severn in late C18th. I believe they may have married at St. Mary de Lode in Gloucester Cathedral precincts in September 1778 but with Ann recorded as Nancy.

Canninge, Canning family who came from Foxcote, Warwickshire and settled in Todenham for many generations then a descendant named Thomas moved to Ogbourne St Andrew, Wiltshire. My grandmother was Florence Neville, born in Todenham in 1877. Her greatgrandfather John Neville had moved to Todenham in about 1813 from Aston Magna. He and his son David were the parish clerks of Todenham for almost 70 years. Most of the Neville men were carpenters, and in later years at least two Nevilles were sub-postmistresses in Todenham.
