Weeks family
I am looking for information on the Weeks family in South Cerney. Matthew Weeks was born in South Cerney in 1774. He married Elisabeth Cole, with whom he had 2 children, Samuel & Elizabeth. His 2nd wife was Mary Evans. Their children were George, Ann, Henry, Mary, William & Charlotte. His married life was spent in Cricklade Street in Cirencester. Matthew was a stone mason, as were most of the Weeks men in South Cerney. I think his father was John and his mother Elizabeth Dowdeswell, but I haven't found definite links. I have seen a family headstone in the graveyard at South Cerney for other members of the Weeks family but again, I can't find the connection between the families. Matthew Weeks was my gt gt gt grandfather.

red mail Jacobs
I am researching my GGgrandfather William Jacobs born about 1806 in "South Sarney" Gloucestershire, which I take to be South Cerney. He married Charlotte Carpenter in Longhope Gl. 26.12.1836 and was an agricultural labourer. He died from a head injury inflicted by a colt on 11.6.1851 in Longhope. I have been unable to find a baptism for him, although there are several Jacobs recorded on IGI in South Cerney. Any help on his origins would be appreciated.

Could anyone else be researching this family? I am back to 1700's. Christian names involved are Richard Bailey/Bayley married to an Eleanor? Their son's William, James, Richard, John and Thomas. The family came from South Cerney but William worked in Clerkenwell and Islington as a Coachman and his brother Richard moved to Malmesbury where his was a Baker.
