red mail HOOPER & WILKINS IN NEWNHAM & LYDNEY 1850s - 1890s
Harriet Wilkins, b 1852 in Lydney, married George William Hooper, b 1857 in Newnham and had 4 children - Caroline Harriet b 1879, Stephen Henry b 1880 and christened in Newnham in 1881, Mary Jane b 1883 in Hook Norton, Oxfordshire, and George b 1897 in Lydney. George William (the father) was an engineer / driver and connected with the railway. Mary Jane (2nd daughter) was married in Thornton Heath in 1905 and used to return to Lydney with her son to visit relatives. But the rest of the family seem to have disappeared - they're not in the 1891 census and there aren't any marriage, birth or death records for them that I can find. Perhaps they emigrated? Any information, ideas or connections gratefully received.
