Beman ancestry, incl. Brooks, Hailes, Minchin
BEMANs Brooks Hailes Minchin et al I have been researching my BEMAN lines for a number of years now and all are descended from James Beman & Mary Goodwin who appeared in Kingham in 1746, having married in Salford. Names in my BEMAN tree relevant to Kingham & nearby villages include: GOODWIN, HAILES, BROOKS, COOK, WILLIAMS, HUNT, PRESCOT, CLEMANS, RUSSELL, DAVIS, GRAY, SHELTON, MINCHIN, MASON, BENNETT, WELLS, TAYLOR, JOYNES, WHEATLEY, FRANCES, RICHARDSON, and others! Bemans were in many Cotswold villages (Kingham, Adlestrop, Broadwell, Moreton, Chastleton, Sherborne...) from 1720's to 1890's at least, and maybe earlier ancestors before then & later descendants still there. Many Bemans went to London, (Middlesex areas) Edmonton, City, East End, Piccadilly, Hackney, Islington, Greenford. Robert Beman, my gggrandfather was well known and a merchant in Moreton. Ken
