red mail Dawes and Beach Families
I have traced my father's DAWES family back many generations in Longhope, Gloucestershire. I will be visiting the village in August 2010 and would love to make contact with any common decendants still in the area. My line is from Clement DAWES (d.1778) and Mary ?, via John DAWES (1754-1819) and Hester BAYLIS (d. 1808), then Benjamin DAWES (1791-1873) and Sarah ?. Their son John Edward DAWES (1836-1879) married Ann Rebecca BEACH (1836-1898) in Croydon in 1857. After John Edward's death Rebecca brought her 3 surviving children (of 10) to Australia. Does the above ring any bells? Thanking you in advance.

Mother - EMILY and father - JOSEPH. Would like to know who Martin married and if they had any children. I believe he later lived in KILBURN, London.
Fisher - Haile from Longhope, Gloucester
My Great Grandfather was Anthony Fisher (1835-1918) married to Hannah Haile (1838-1911), whom I understand were both from Longhope in Gloucester, England. They came to New Zealand on the ship Northumberland, arriving in Auckland on the 18 March 1884 and settled at Mangere Bridge in Auckland. My Grandmother, Amy Haile Fisher (1877-1960) had her 7th birthday at sea on the voyage to NZ. I am interested to learn any Fisher or Haile family history details, in particular, details of Anthony Fisher's parents.
red mail BARTON Family c1894
I have traced my Barton family to Longhope, Gloucestershire from a letter dated 1894 written from 'Hopebrook Villa', Longhope etc. The writer is George Barton and his wife Clara Caroline Barton (nee Ryall)would be living at the same address, probably along with daughters, Clara,Alice,Edith and Mabel BARTON. I would love any information about Longhope - is the house still identifiable, any other knowledge of the Barton family during their time in Longhope. Noeline from New Zealand
