Mary Ann AMOS c. 1820
I believe Mary Ann Amos was born somewhere between 1818 and 1823 in the Iron Acton district of Gloucestershire. She married William Bezer/Bazer (various spellings) in 1841 and they lived in Iron Acton. I cannot find them at all on the early censuses and have tried under various spellings without success. I believe Mary Ann's parents to be George Amos and Ann Griffin but I cannot find the PROOF. Can anyone help please? I think that George Amos was the son of Thomas and was born 1785 at Rangeworthy. But I have found conflicting names for George's mother. Again, does anyone have PROOF please?
red mail Bowyer
John Bowyer was born in Iron Acton about 1788. His wife was Hannah Walker or Walter. Son Daniel (b. 1826) was my g-g-grandfather. Appears Bowyer family was around Iron Acton for centuries. John lived in Frampton Cotterell at Daniel's birth, but was in Iron Acton for the 1841-1851-1861 census dates. Any Bowyer information appreciated.

red mail William Dirham bigamy at Iron Acton
William Dirham of Westerleigh married Elizabeth Wall by licence at Iron Acton on 14.6.1798. A son William was buried at Iron Acton on 27.7.1800 with the Rector's comment in the register stating that the marriage of William Dirham and Elizabeth Wall was illegal as William Dirham "had a former wife living". the Iron Acton Vestry Minute Book contains the entry on 19.2.1800 "The Parish to be at the Expence of takeing of William Duram". If William Dirham (or Duram) was ever caught, he would appear before the Assize in the area of his arrest. Any suggestions about how this might be found?
