Looking for information on Willie Williams and his wife Frances Ethel who kept the boot and shoe shop on The Square in Troedyrhiw for many years. They lived above the shop. Willie was born in Merthyr on 30 November 1897 son of Elizabeth Jane Williams, nee Lewis - herself born in Troedyrhiw. I know that Willie and his wife were still living there up until 1971/72. Trying to find any information about Fred Slade who married Betty Wooton and lived in or around Plantation Square in Troedyriw, Wales. We believe Fred passed on about 1990. Betty passed on in 1994, at the time she was living in a seniors home and at the time of death she was 74.

Does anyone have any information about the mission Band or the Appollo concert Band that was led by Robert Weale up until he emigrated to Canada in 1927.These bands won many contests. Historic pictures of the band members taken outside Castle Pit in 1918 and 1923 appeared in a troedyrhiw paper in 1973. They were submitted by Mr. Weale's son in law Alfred Jones.
