Seeking information on Patrick Clifford and Ellen Murphy - both born in mid to late 1830s in Ireland and immigrated to Wales either famine or post famine; they were married at St. Illytd's in Dowlais on Nov. 28, 1863 - they lived in Merthyr Tydfil, specifically: Lloyd Street, Penydarren, Penydarren Yard, and Plantation Street over the years. Immigrated to America (Pittsburgh) approx. 1887 with eight of their nine children (all born between 1865 and 1881 - I have the years): Bridget, Patrick, Michael, Thomas, Daniel, Catherine, Edward and James. Their son John either stayed in Wales or died prior to their leaving or during etc. Also looking for anyone that has a clear street map of Merthyr during this time period as would like to see the areas that they lived. Ellen's father's name was John (b. approx 1809). He lived with them for a time between 1863 and 1871. She may have had a younger brother named John (b. approx. 1850). Patrick's father was Patrick - deceased as of 1863. Thanks in advance.

John Buckley married Mary Scannal(likely Scannel) on May 18, 1852 in St Illtyd's RC Church. The father's names are Michael Buckley and Edward Scannal(deceased). Their residence is listed as Pendararren. I have previously listed other info about this family. I'm looking for info on the family of Mary Gwenllian (Rees) Mills. Her father was William Rees and her mother Mary Ann (Abraham) Rees; I believe her grandparents were Edmund Rees and Rachael (Griffith) Rees. Mary Gwenllian had three sisters: Rachel, Sarah, and Jane. She married James Mills in 1901; they had four children (Iorwerth, Constance, Ena, and William James) in Wales (Bridgend and Pontypridd). They moved to the States in 1911 and three more children, including my father, were born there. I would love to hear from anyone who might be descended from my grandmother's sisters or who might know about the family.

His son, Joseph Coughlan(born abt. 1871, Cork, Ireland) married Mary Townsend, daughter of Michael Townsend (born Kilkenny, Ireland) and Bridget?(also B. in Kilkenny)They were married in 1897 in Merthyr Tydfil, and had children:Molly, Joseph (b. 1905), Nellie, Bridget (b. 1902), Alice, and Frances (b. abt 1914). Frances may have married a Tom Jones, and has a daughter Frances. Bridget & Joseph came to the USA, in Illinois, and have descendants here still. Any info greatly appreciated! thanks.

Looking for information on the Lewis Family of Tidfil Merthyr. Known family members are John Thomas Lewis (1902 - 1938) known as Tom, his brothers Harry, Jim and sister Margaret. Tom's son Richard William Lewis lives in Australia. Tom was a Bantom weight boxer, secretary of seamans union in Barry. His wife was Gwenyth Lewis nee Howell. His father's name was also Richard. We are wondering whether our family may have some connection to unionist Dick Penderyn.

Davies family
I am trying to find any information on Bridget(Sullivan) & Gwilym Davies, they were living at 38 Bridge Street, in 1936. Bridget passed away in 1936 at this address, she had twin girls one died very young, the other may have lived at this address until Bridget died, it is then believed she went to a convent in the area until 16yrs of age. Does anyone know of a place called Tydfil Lodge(could be a hospital. I am also trying to find a cemetary in the area that she would have been interened.

He moved before 1838 to Ystradgynlais where he presumably found work in the Iron works at Ystalyfera. ancestral information on him and his family is good... Daniel married Lyzzod Watkins b 1817 Ystradgynlais in 1840 though they had a child together Daniel Jenkins b 1838. A steelworker by trade, Patrick John Robert was the only son of Robert Healey, an Irish immigrant from Co. Cork, and Edith Maud Davies, a domestic servant from Newport.

I am searching for relatives of William Jones, born Feb. 4, 1922. his birth record shows only his mother as Alice Jones, but later records I have show that his father was Michael Jones and mother Alice Evans. I am looking for any information about my great grandparents John and Mary Jones. John born Carmarthen,wales 1841 and Mary Rouen, France 1846. Looking for John Williams born 1829 in Dowlais who was married to Anne Howells born 1833 in Llansamlet. Married a little before or around 1855 and had David, Elvira,and Gwilliam before 1861. Researching Lewis ancestors from the Twnyrodin area of Merthyr,William Lewis and his wife Ann Rees were the innkeepers at the "white horse inn" (still there!)William was born 1825-1895,one of their sons was a famous solicitor who lived in Merthyr John William Lewis B-1865,any more info regarding these would be appreciated or indeed Williams parents I believe his mother Mary Lewis was also the innkeeper at the same inn.!Many thanks.

Looking for information on DAVID HOWELL REES who grew up where the Aberfan Mining Disaster occurred. He became a missionary after hearing a minister Howell preach, moved to USA, and went to Butler University School of Religion. He & wife J. Lois Fuller toured the world along with their three children. He was killed, though don't know the circumstances. Would like to find the connection to my family line and locate living cousins.

James also married Mary Owens and they had two children,James Pitt Meredith and Mary Meredith. Would like to find out when and where he married second wife, likely between 1841 and 1843. James Meredith, second wife Mary, and all five of his children left Wales for United States in 1849.
