red mail Margaret Reilly - born 1836 approximately - (Oughterard, Uachtar Ard - County Galway)
I cannot find out anything about Margaret, my great grandmother; as far as I can ascertain, she was born in County Galway, and lived for some time in Uachtar Ard with two aunts, when the rest of her family had emigrated to the US. The aunts ran some type of shop, if their name was not REILLY, it may have been WALSHE. She married James LARKIN of Kells, Co. Meath, born approximately 1826, as his second wife, and they had two children, Anne Brigid and James Joseph. They lived in Drogheda when their children were born, later moving to Dublin. James was a railway engine driver, his son later became one also, and Anne Brigid married a railway engine driver, Patrick MULLEN of Monaghan. They lived in Dublin. We have very little indeed to go on as regards Margaret herself. Family lore says Margaret may have followed her family to the US at some stage, in which case she must have returned to get married. I really hope this might ring a bell with someone.
