Searching for information on Thomas Lee 1739 - 15.3.1816 and his wife Mary Deakin 1742 - 10.2.1801. Both were born in Hawarden Flintshire and married there on 29.9.1765. The marriage certificate states Thomas's occupation as bricklayer. Both signed the marriage certificate, which shows literacy. One of the witnesses was Thomas Deakin. Their daughter Elizabeth married Edward Winn. Thank you Pauline

I am trying to find the maiden name of my gggmother Sidney Williams. She & her husband John Williams lived at Pantile Cottages, Wood Lane , Ewloe, Hawarden. They are in all censuses from 1841. They had the following children:Samuel 1837, John 1839, Elizabeth 1841, Robert 1844, Sidney 1846 & Mary 1849. I would be delighted to hear from anybody with any information about any of them!

Looking for parentage of a James Henry Anderson who has Harwarden / Boughton as birthplace in 1867, and I think was baptised there. His parents are listed when he is baptised into an RC church immediately prior to his marriage, some 20 years later in lancashire as James(Jacobi) Anderson and Maria (Mary?) Johnson. No idea if parents' families were Hawarden residents, or merely there for a short time. Anyone know of any likely Andersons or Johnsons in the area at about that time, to give me a clue to try to search further? Can't find them on 1871 or 1881 census

They had 10 or 11 children and lived in a house which you had to get to by some stairs. I have very little info. my grandfather thomas hill was born in hawarden 1902 his father was james son of thomas and martha both born sealand area of chester but lived most of their lives in hawarden his mother was sarah elizabeth griffiths daugter of robert and eliza or elizabeth granddaughter of stephan and mary stephan was a shoemaker and later in life kept cows there must be lots of the griffiths family in the area and maybe some of the hills my grandfathers mother and father moved about 1910 to bootle and then on to widnes cheshire I would be happy for any help or contact also can anyone tell me where ebnel cottage hawarden is or was I may have the spelling wrong this is where the hills lived at the time of my grandfathers birth his brothersand sisters where elizabeth alberta griffiths step sister b 1895 mary 1900 james 1901

Can anyone help me with My Podmore Family ? My Forebear was WILLIAM PODMORE , who married Mary Lee of Ewloe in 1743 and Margaret Jones of Broad Lane in 1746........ I have no problem with descendents etc... but do not know where he came from. He certainly was not born in Hawarden ( I have Parish Registers 1697-1820, but not all ).... Lancelot Purcell and wife Sarah Edwards had 9 children. Lancelot was born Westbury Shrops 1731 and died Madeley Shrops in 17 Mar 1805. One of theiir sons was Samuel Purcell born Madeley Shrops 1762 who then moved to Hawarden Flints. He was an engineer nad married Elizabeth Gi(o)rton. They once lived at Mancot Flints. They had many children including a son Samuel Lancelot Purcell baptized 3 may 1795 at Mancot who then married Martha Bruen. I have the rest of the family tree of Samuel Purcell of hawarden and many of his descendants.

He married Elizabeth Watkiss in 1845 in Liverpool though their son William James was born in Hawarden 1846.I have no other details on him. William does not appear to be on the '51 or'61 but on the 1871 is living in Stoke upon Trent. He is now married to a Mary Taylor nee Green. Where did William go? Answers please!!
