red mail John Edwards
John Edwards, born 1799, son of Mary Edwards, in Bangor on Dee. No named father on baptism record, John subsequently used the name John Edwards Payne and was an iron stone miner, he married Sarah Hazeldine and they later moved to Pensnett, near Dudley where they raised their family, both died there. Does anyone have any connections with this family.
Margaret FURNESS was my g.aunt daughter of Joshua and Ellen Hewitt who were the innkeepers of the Inn opposite the church by the river. and when Margaret and her husband retired many years later they came back to Bangor, as she enjoyed part of her childhood so much that the place drew her back there. I wonder if anyone in the village knew of her? If so I would love to hear from them.
red mail joshua hewitt of ROYAL OAK hotel
MY G.G. Grandfather Joshua Hewitt was Inkeeper of the Royal Oak Hotel next to the Church and very close to the old bridge across the Dee in the years 1869 to 1871 He was also a farmer of some 14 acres of land at Porth ur gan a small walk from the Royal Oak, and my great aunt Mary Ann Hewitt eldest daughter of Joshua and Ellen Hewitt, married William Pearson a local farmer. There were photographs on the wall of the Royal Oak some 3 years ago which I believe might or just could be my HEWITT fAMILY. im just wondering if there are any local residents who have any info about either the Hewitt or Pearson family
