I have extensively researched the Brodies from Dysart. Robert Brodie was my 3 x great grandfather, a Mariner and Weaver who published a history of Pathhead called 'Historical Sketches of Pathhead and Vicinity'. He was born c 1796 and married Margaret Thompson. They had 10 children, 5 of which sadly, were stillborn. Their son Laurence was my 2 x great grandfather who married Elizabeth Moore. They lived in Maryport. If anyone has any connection, please feel free to contact me.

Robert Scott my, born Dysart c1783, parents William Scott who was a gardner in Auchterderran Parish, now Kirkcaldy and Isabele Blacket. Robert married Joanna Kerr or Ker ( b1776 in Abbotshall) in 1807. Three daughters Ann b1807, Isabel b1809, Joanna b1811, then William b1814 who is my, John b1816, Jean b1819 and died same year. William came to Penicuik, Midlothian, and lived out his life there. I am looking for any connections with this family. I am curious to know why William left Dysart.

Isabella Wallace was my great grandmother, and born around 1860-70. Her father was William Wallace; her mother's name is unknown to us, as are any siblings she may have had. She married Alexander Hamilton and had two son's Alexander and William (my grandfather). She died in childbirth with the third infant, named Thomas. It is unknown when exactly they emmigrated to Canada. They were a part of the 1911 Census in New Brunswick. We know very little about the Wallace's of Dysart, except that the Wallace's were well established there. Information about any aspects of our families will be greatly welcomed. Thank you, Maggie

Looking for details on my grandfather. Married Elizabeth Kerr Robertson. Seems like he also spent a large part of his youth in Kirkcaldy. Had two children, Tommy and Jean - both born in Kirkcaldy. Moved in late 40's to 50's to S Rhodesia. As fas as I know he was a stone mason by trade. Have very little info on him and would dearly love to know more.

I am looking for great grand parents. William Elder married Wilhemina Pullar. The Elders lived in Dysart according to my mum Wilhelmina Elder. Who later married Charles Martin Chalmers in Dundee. Both William and Wilhemina Pullar were from large families. Wilhelmina has a sister called Ruby and a brother called Andrew.

I think her fathers name was William. She had a brother William & a sister Margaret. She moved to Burntisland before settling down in Dunfermline. She married William Barber from Dundee. Parents of John & Iasbella are David McLaren & Margaret Thomson, & Alexander Henderson & Elizabeth Murdoch.Alex & Elizabeth had 2 son,s drown 1881 in the mouth of Dysart Harbour. Names also with connections with McLaren in Dysart are Steedman,Binnie,Bennett,Halden,Fairfull,& Weir.
