red mail Arnot Dryburgh Young Duncan in Fife
Researching Arnot name mostly around Auchterderran in Fife. John Arnot (b.1799) and Margaret Dryburgh (b.1796) had children Elisabeth 1822, William 1824, John 1827, David 1832 in Auchterderran. William (my maternal line) married Isabella Young around 1846 and had Margaret 1847, John 1848, Elizabeth 1851, Isobella 1854. Isabella Young died early possibly in childbirth with Isobella as no record of her death after 1855. Strangely her daughter (Elizabeth) listed Isabella Young as her mother, which she was, but on the death certificate of Elizabeth (07/05/1939 Cranston, Midlothian) her son William gave a Margaret Mobray as her mother who I have no trace of either marrying or living with the widower William Arnot. Elizabeth Arnot (my maternal line)went on to marry James Duncan in 1876 and had their children in Drem, East Lothian (see Drem). Interested in any info from people doing same line.
My great-grandfather was married in Auchterderran in 1860 to Mary Muir. I am interested in any information or history of anyone with HAY or MUIR genealogy.
