My gt-grandmother, Dorothy Winifred WILLIS, was so I've been told born at Scarlett's Farm although her family originated in Great Leighs. Can anyone tell me anything about Scarlett's Farm, such as its size, who owned it etc? Someone told me that the old farmhouse still exists but its now a private property.

George Ward (dates unknown) and Eliza (dates and maiden name unknown) had at least 3 children in Terling in the 1730s: George (1730?), Elizabeth (1731) and John (1732). Elizabeth married Edward Garnett in Terling in 1757, prodcuing at least 7 children. (See Garnett entry.) Would welcome contact from fellow researchers. I am especailly keen to trace George Ward's line.

Abraham Houchin (dates unknown but probably born c.1700) and Sarah (dates and maiden name unknown) were resident in Terling and had at least two children: Mary 1730, sarah 1731. Mary married a John Houchin (cousin?) at Terling, 20th November 1760. They had 3 children at least: Sarah (bapt. 1766) married Edward Garnett in 1786 in Terling. their son Thomas Garnett 1789-1859 is my ancestor. (See Garnett entry fro terling.) Would welcome contact with any other reserachers of this line.

Edward Garnett (birth details unknown but probably c.1735) married Elizabeth Ward in Terling 1st Oct 1757. Seven children, at least, ensued, of which Edward (1759-1836) is my ancestor. Edward senior was buried at Terling on 21 Nov 1813. Edward jnr married Sarah Houchin at Terling on 11.07.1786; they had at least 8 children of which Thomas (1789-1859) is my ancestor. Many followed the trade of glover, latterly felmonger (Tomas's son George). Edward lived in a house called Raisins". Anyone else following this line? I would be pleased to hear from you
