red mail George & Nellie Everett
Any information on George or Nellie Everett?! I began browsing Census records to confirm information I already knew, it was noticed that on the 1911 Census my great-grandfather George Everett (b. Brightlingsea, 1877) was living with his wife Beatrice Everett (nee. Deer, b.1887) in Prittlewell, Southend-On-Sea. Their two children Leslie (c.1909) and Winifred (b.1910), my great uncle and aunt, are also living with them, as well as his two children George (b. Southend, 1899) and Nellie (b. Southend, 1904), who none of the family knew existed until now. I ordered Nellie's birth certificate, which shows her mother as Agnes Everett (nee. Greenacre). I found a marriage record for George Everett and Agnes Greenacre towards the end of 1898. I also found a death record for Agnes Everett, and ordered the death certificate to find out her date of death (January 1906). George remarried in 1909 to Beatrice, and the rest, as they say, is history! I am stumped as to why I can find no further information about George (b.1899) or Nellie, after the 1911 Census. No death record, no marriage record, nothing. Any further information would be greatly appreciated! :) Alice

My great-grandfather, George William Thomas Piggott, moved to Southend with his second wife, Maud (poss. previously Cox, nee Muncey) and his daughter, Cecilia, also known as Peggy. Cecilia married Reginald Dennis Playle in 1945, and they had at least three children - David (born 1951), Pauline (born 1955) and Shirley (born 1956). George Piggott died in 1937, Maud died in 1963, and Cecilia (Peggy) died in 1999. There is some mystery regarding George's move to Southend. He married Maud less than a year after his first wife, Alice, died, and only Cecilia (his youngest daughter) moved with them, and there was possibly a family rift, which meant that Peggy did not spend much time with the family left in Slough (there were 7 other living relations). My grandmother, Caroline Louisa Piggott (known as Lou) was one of Cecilia's older sisters. I have several family certificates an photos which may be of interest.
