red mail Matlock Mineral Water Company, Ockendon RD
I am interested in hearing from anyone who has any idea or information about this firm. All I have is a bottle, and it appears to belong to a firm ran by John Whittaker who later moved his business to Matlock Bath in the 1870's. His father was named Saul Whittaker, but basically this is all I know of these early years. The business in Matlock Bath was highly successful, although now fully demolished.
red mail Weall & Dodd families, North Ockendon
My great grandmother was Rebekah Weall, born in 1847 in North Ockendon. Her father was George Weall (c1807) and mother was Jane (Smith?). Rebekah married Charles Dodd and they lived in North Ockendon (eventually at Cherry Orchard). I'd be interested to hear from anyone else researching the Weall or Dodd families.
