red mail perkins
I can trace family to Middlemead which I believe is the area of Pheasantwood Farm now. James Perkins was born around 1809 but can't find baptism, possibly born Danbury which is close by. He was married in the village to Elizabeth in1833 and a witness name was Lucking (family is well known in this area) My great grandfather Isaac was born in village in 1848 and had several siblings. They were agricultural labourers and eventually most moved to Lewisham to work in Royal parks. Would like to get back further in history of family.judy

red mail Sorrell Family Little Baddow
Julia Algar born Dec 1825 Boreham, Essex was my grandmothers grandmother. She was a grocer and post mistress in Little Baddow in the late 19th century. Her parents were John and Hannah Algar. In 1844 Julia married Stephen Sorrell born 1818 Little Baddow, brother of Hyram Sorrell and son of Sarah Sorrell (grocer) born in Essex in 1791. The 1861 Census shows Stephen Sorrell was a miller and had a grocery shop in Little Baddow. Their eldest child was Louisa Julia Sorrell who married William Bundock about 1869. Stephen died in 1863 and Julia later married Samuel Campion and continued with the shop in Little Baddow, becoming the post mistress sometime in the 1880s. Does anyone know the address of the shop? I would like to know more on the Algar family and the Sorrell family so that I can expand my family tree.
