my Family William John Nott his wife Florence and his daughter Jessica Nott later married and lived in "the cottage " Jessie worked in the postoffice and married a Ted and moved into the village. they are all buried in the local church.

My gg grandfather was Harvey Carter, born in 1847 at Great Horkesley, Essex. He later lived at Great Braxted and Colchester, before moving to Stratford upon Avon in the 1870s, where he died in 1924.
MUNSON Name Study
My ancestors are from this village. Arthur Munson b1771 became a Methodist preacher in Lexden, Great Clacton, St Osyth and Brightlingsea. He finally became the first minister of the New Jerusalem Church in Brightlingsea.

John Willis born around 1855 in Gt Horkesley, I need to identify his parents. I suspect them to be Henry and Ann Maria Willis (nee Leach) (later living in Boxted) but am unable find conclusive evidence. Can anyone help?
