red mail Cummin family of Witton le Wear
Is anyone researching the family of Anthony Cummin who married Jane Wascoe in Witton le Wear Apr. 27, 1756? I believe his daughter, Elizabeth Cummin (1757), married Daniel Bland (1752) in Witton le Wear Aug. 8, 1781.
Mary Elizabeth Woodruff / Woodroffe
I am seeking any information on Mary Elizabeth Woodruff who owned a shop in Witton le Wear in the late 1800's. It is believed that she was originally a servant at Witton Castle and her father was a stonemason. The family had lived in the village for some time prior to Mary's birth and it is also believed that her father and mother may also have had involvement with Witton Castle. Andy

red mail Family search
Seeking relatives of William Garry, borne aprox 1857.Married to Mary, single name unknown. Travelled to Liverpool from Kildare.Think they may have been married before leaving for England, but I presently cannot confirm this. Marcella was borne 1879,their first daughter. Richard was borne 1881, and he eventually became a dock labourer, as did his father. We believe he married Kate, and they lived in Bootle. No other details known yet.A second daughter, Margaret Ann, borne approx 1887 to William and Mary. This lady was my grandmother, Margaret Ann.She was about five foot tall, with beautifull auburn hair, slightly waved. She started to have hearing problems as a child, and eventually became deaf. The auburn hair is prominent in the family, seven, last count.Regretably, the hearing problems are also. I dont know why no one asked her questions when she was alive, but they didnt, so I hope i can discover my grandmother, and her parents heritage. The first address I have found is in Burlington Street, Kirkdale, then William and Mary disappear, as does Marcella. We believe Mary may have died shortly after the birth of my grandmother. I have found Richard and Margaret on the 1901 Census, and they are living with a Bridget Maher, in St Johns Road, Kirkdale. They were recorded as nephew and niece. My father used to tell me about Aunty Marr, but thats how it was said, not neccesarily spelt.I dont know if it was Bridget Maher, or Marcella he was referring to. Margaret Garry married my grandad, John Coffey in mid 1900's.He was from Ennis,County Clare, but they met in England and married. Their children were- Maggie,Mary,John Joseph was my dad,Patrick,Agnes,Bridget,Teresa. These may be Coffey family names, but perhaps they are after Garry family members. My dad, married my mum who was from Balina,County Mayo. if anyone may have any information,on the Garry family, or possible links, we would love to know. Maureen.
