I am looking for a name and place of marriage for the following Stoker family. Thomas Stoker married a Margaret ? They had a son Thomas b1826 in Winlaton who married Mary Hemsley b1834 in Richmond Yorks. Their son John b 1862 in Richmond married a Margaret Hall b1863 in Henwick Durham. They had several children one of which was Cecil b1903. He married a Catherine Minto b1901 in 1928 in Durham.

My Grandfather was William Wilson and lived in Winlaton. Apparently he moved to Winlaton as child when his mother moved there to become a housekeeper for a widower and his children. She later married him and think his name was Dykes as "Dyker" became my grandfathers nickname. Any information would be appreciated. He married Teresa Laughlin and any info re her family would be much appreciated.

A well known trainer of greyhounds who died age 76. He trained the winner of the Widdrington Cup in 1926 and 1927--'Jack in the Box' and the runner up for the Netherby Cup on two occasions. He was "mine host" of the Old House Inn, Winlaton. John Gilfillan is my great grandfather and I would dearly love to find out if anyone knows anything about him.
