red mail DUNN
My GG Grandfather THOMAS DUNN was a railway engine driver, born 1814 in Raby, Staindrop Parish. As part of his job, he moved up and down the railway so wasn't in Co Durham for long, but did marry Elizabeth Thompson of Stockton in 1836. Thomas' father, I think, was ALEXANDER DUNN, poss b 1787; He married 'SARAH' of LOW KEVERSTONE, probably in 1818. Any info please.
James Elgy/ Ann Clark
I am hoping that someone could clarify some information I have on these two people, please. James was born approx 1630 -1640, possibly Roby, or a village close to Staindrop. I have nothing on the birth of Ann, although some records show her name as Clearke. They were married 27/3/1655 at Staindrop, and I believe had 4 children up to 1663. James seems to have remarried a Susanna Renwick in Nov.1663, and had two more children, but I cannot see when or where Ann died. The situation is further confused by several family trees showing a wife if James by the name of Margaret having died in 1663 ?? I think I have quite a lot of details, but don't seem to have things in the right order, or it's possible that other sites are just as confused....can anyone clarify a few things and help get me on the right track again please, Thanks, Brian
