red mail Policeman
I am interested in hearing anything about the Branford family who lived in New Silksworth. My father was Thomas and he had a brother called James. I believe their father was a policeman and there was a family rumour that he was discharged. It would be interesting to hear anything about the family as my father lost contact with his father when he remarried.
red mail Scott
My great grandfather, John James Scott, lived in Tunstall Terrace. Aged 41, he married Emily Williamson (36) of Huntley Terrace, Ryhope in 1913 (either St. Matthews or St. Pauls CoE). His father was WILLIAM Scott but he is recorded as deceased before the marriage. John James had been married before but I cannot find any details. Later, the pair moved to Dinsdale Street, Ryhope, where their only son, my grandfather John Williamson Scott, was born in 1918. All men were miners. Does anyone have information regarding any generations. I lived in Silksworth also so very interested in the connection!
