George Henry Maddison. 1901 census states living 12 Potter Street Willington Quay. age 5 weeks. 1911 census states George Henry Maddison age 10 and is living with William and Sarah E. Maddison and notes that he is an adopted son.At 11 George Street Stanley Durham. I have found a marriage certificate for 1926 George H. Maddison married one Sarah Robertson . Can anyone confirm this marriage is that of George H. Maddison of Potter Street who would now be 25/26 yrs of age.It would be of great help to me if anyone could also supply the maiden name of Sarah E. Maddison I believe she may have been born in Gorleston on sea Norfolk. Great and many thanks for any kind help received on all lines and will gladly share any information

Looking for information about any family alive today related to James ( Jimmy) Scurr born about 1937 . Worked at Easington Colliery in the 1950's before moving south in the 1960's to work as a labourer in the construction industry. I believe Jimmy died in 1979 in Blackburn Lancashire but was brought home to Easington for burial.

Bridget Dyer married Richard Craney in 1871 and shortly have emigated to Glouester, County, Ohio, USA. Ann Dyer married Thomas Penman in 1881, having sons, John, Patrick, Miles and Thomas. John died at 10 and other 3 brothers emigrated to Ohio, Pennsylvania and Illinois.

His name was Robert Edward Potts (Spouse Maggie Tracy in USA), His father (my GGrandfather) was Edward William Potts b. 1856 (Spouse Phoebe ?). I am looking for information about Peter Cockburn born about l847, who was a Private 36th Regiment when he married Emily Williams in l879 in Fylde. They had several children, although only one survived. Peter died in l880, and Emily returned to her home town of Plymouth. Thanks, Liz

William Nixon born 1800 Brampton Yorkshire had a son Edward Nixon born 1827 in Durham who moved to Easington with his first wife in the 1850s when Thomas and Robert Nixon were born. He married Jane Storey in Hartlepool in 1861 and lived in Easington with their children: John, Henry, Elizabeth, Frederick, Lewis and Edwin born in the 1870s and 1880s.

My grandfather, Sydney Hockaday, left Durham County in 1912. He came to the United States aboard a ship called the Campania. He was born in Easington in 1893. I am looking for his family. His father and mother were Henry and Jane Truscott Hockaday. Sydney's sibling, that I know of, are William H., John F. and Maud Hockaday.
