I'm searhing for descendants of & info.on John Blacklock(b.1777,Speddock):wife,Agnes MacDoughal (b.l777,Applegarth).. Her father was Matthew MacDougal and mother, Elizabeth Jardine. Blacklock/MacDougal marker is at Dunscore Cemetary.John & Agnes had several sons.Mom said they were all cobblers.One son,Matthew stayed in Scotland(Rhonehouse). Two brothers,Charles MacDougal B.(md.Jean McMurray)& Robert B. B.(m.Mary Haugh)came to USA in 1859. Charles'son Robert Browning Blacklock md.Mary Moffet (b.Thornhill?near Dumfries)in 1881 in US. Mary's dad was John Moffet, & her mother was a Mary Moffet also.She had a brother William Moffet. Any info.on any here is appreciated.Thanks from USA

We are looking for family of Robert Sharrock and Ann Pennington We know they married in 1823 Chorley,Lancashire they had my gg grandfather Robert Vincent in 1830 at Eccles, Lancashire, other siblings were William 1826, Lucy Jane 1832, Winifred 1834,and Thomas 1836, They appeared on the census on 7 Jun 1841 in Gold Street Pendleton,Lancashire, Robert Vincent moved to Australia and married Elizabeth Hill. Any information would be appreciated.

Anyone have connections to Jane Kenning, daughter of John Kenning (labourer) and Jane McWhae, born in Dunscore abt 1777; married Adam Black of Kirkconnel and had about a dozen children, including Joseph, Walter, Jane, Elizabeth, Margaret (my GG-GM -- she married George McLellan of Closeburn in 1839 and went to Canada in 1857), Adam and Robert. Jane Kenning Black died in Kirkconnel in June 1855, buried in Kirkconnel Churchyard. She also had a brother Joseph Kenning, who died in Dunscore in 1856 (he had a son called James), and possibly a sister called Margaret Kennan (who married James Wallace of Morton by Thornhill). This last couple had a son John (wife Agnes Fraser of Thornhill) who also settled in Canada. He was my GG-GM's cousin. Would welcome any info on the Kenning/Kennan or McWhae families.

I am looking for info on my ggg grandfather James Edgar who possibly hails from Dunscore. He may have been the son of James Edgar of Galloward(sic?) Dunscore and have married Margaret Hannay of Kirkcudbright in 1836(source: Dumfries Times)James Edgar was a draper and tea dealer in Bury St Edmunds in the 1841 census. Any info on tea dealers from that part of Scotland?
