Looking for John & Joyce Harrison, Joyce's mother was Rose maiden name Brookshaw b.1899 They had two children a boy and a girl. My Grandmother Dorothy (Nan) Adams was Rose's sister. They had 3 or four other sisters, not in order, Edith Brookshaw 1902, Ada Brookshaw 1909 & Kitty. There father was Wallace Brookshaw and mother was Rose Norman of Eastbourne. This information may have some errors, this is what little information I have. Would like to hear from anyone related or that has additional information. Thank you. Deb
Hi. We were evacuated to 11 Park Rd Swanage 1939. There were three families in the one house. Just wondered if anyone remembers Mr Alice Sainsbury and her three boys plus her father Walter? I feel sure you would remember him as he was very large and stone deaf! Well here's hoping for news!! Thanks Arthur

I have two photos of my Great grandfather John Thomas Dickings standing in the doorway of the Dickings saddle & Harness shop in swanage. Then I have a photo of my grandfather Charles Dickings (Dickens) standing outside the very same building, but now it's Isle of Purbeck Garage- Dickings & Son electrical engineering. I am researching my family history and am hoping that I my be able to make contact with members or friends of my family going back through the 19th and 2oth century. What I do know in connection with my family in Swanage is that my grandfather moved to the Town from Winton in Hampshire and worked as a reporter for the Swanage Echo as well as being the Secretary of the Swanage Horticultural Society for many years. My father James was born in Christchurch in 1890 and moved with the family to Swanage. He fought in the 1st World War in the Royal Fusilliers, winning the Military Medal at the Somme in 1916. When discharged he returned to Swanage where he convalesced having been badly injured in the "Final Push" of 1918. Other members of my family who were in the area where Harold and Elsie Sadler who lived in Langton Matravers and Kate and Alf who lived in Herston. If any one has any knowledge of my family I would much appreciate hearing from them. My great grandfather also James was Lock keeper at Sonning on the Thames for 40 years in the 1800's

He settled on upreaches of the Hawhesbury River New South Wales Australia with his wife Mary Pardoe Mary had been a prisoner on Norfolk Is.when Peter wrecked his Ship and built another their 1st son William was born on the trip to Australia they had 6 sons abd 1 Daughter Peter and Mary are Buried at Laughtondale Cemetery Wiseman's Ferry have bronze plaques on their graves to indicate they were First Fleeters This info Esther

Frank was son of John b.1843, and Elizabeth Ann(Prior?)b.1842.There maybe another son William but no idea when he was born. Frank was born 1871 and in 1874 moved to Manchester with his family. In 1880-1881 the family sailed to Australia settling in South Australia. Here John worked on the railways until his untimely death on the job in 1886. Frank took over his fathers position at age 15 for 18 months. On Franks death in Western Australia it is noted in his Obituary of having 2 cousins, C.Priorand A.C. Cook.
