red mail Fiveash
Hello, I am looking for any information on a 'Henry Fiveash' 1490-1530. A variation in spelling 'Fiveash' might be 'Fyveasshe'. Also, I have recently found out that there was a Hamlet/Village called Fiveash, again variants in spelling are Five - Ash or Fyvash. Any information would be gratefully received, thank you.

red mail PUCKETT family of Puddletown
I'm researching the history of the PUCKETT family who came from Puddletown in the 1700s and 1800s, but also lived in Wool, Chaldon Herring, Owermoigne, Dorchester, Bockhampton, Stinsford, Fordington and Swanage. I would be interested to hear from anyone with Dorset-based Puckett ancestors, but especially with links to the Puckett family who lived in/around Puddletown from the late 1700s to the 1870s. My great-great-great-grandparents were James PUCKETT and Maria TRIM. I have traced each generation of the Puddletown Pucketts back to the marriage of William Puckett & Damaras Ozzard in 1777. Other Dorset surnames with links to my Puckett ancestors are: TARRANT, SAMWAYS, IRONSIDE, SERGENT, TRIM, TREVETT. I would be happy to share any of the information I have already found.

red mail Pearce Pierce Bird
Hi, My ggg grandmother was Susan PEARCE born about 1825 in Piddletown, Dorset and married on 24 Dec 1845 to Samuel Bird of Melbury Osmond, Dorset. They had 3 children, Sarah Pierce Bird (c. 1848), Mary Ann Bird (c. 1854) and Emily Bird (9/8/1857), my gg grandmother). I have found the family in the 1851 census but am waiting on the 1841 census index from SDFHS for Melbury Osmond. No sign of Susan in Puddletown in 1841. Can anyone help me to trace Susan further back or flesh out the info I have already? Many thanks, Clare E.

red mail Connections To Old, Meader, Bersey, Hooper, Iles, Davis.
Great Grandfather OLD's family connections are very strong with HOOPER, ILES, MEADER, BERSEY, DAVIS and others. MEADER family connected with his sister's marriage in 1835. Then her children married a BERSEY in 1860. Both marriages were in Puddletown.OLD family were living in Tarrant Rawston, Piddletrenthide, etc. BERSEY connection went into Buckinghamshire, then into Berkshire, then married in Hampshire to a PHELPS/PHILPS(?), then settled back in Dorset, probabley in or around Puddletown. My Great Grandfather was Albert A. OLD, he came out to Australia in 1853, that family name of OLD out here in Tasmania has not had more than the one male passing on the family name in each of the following 4 generations. Though the 4th generation has more 'twigs' upon it for the first time for about possibley 8 generations. :-) Hoping to hear from anyone with any connections, or possiblities :-)
