red mail Henry Robert Hodder
Henry Robert Hodder is my Great Grandfather and he was born in Marshwood in 1848. He married Anne (surname unknown) who was born in 1850 in Holditch. Their family grew to incude Mary (1878), Thomas Henry (1881), Samuel (1882) and Elizabeth (1884). Thomas Henry is my grandfather. This family line has been in Marshwood for generations before and after and I would greatly value contact from other family members of this extended family line.
red mail Loving/Pitcher
searching for the ancestry of Mary Loving born about 1773 in Marshwood probably daughter of either Thomas or John Loving and possibly Elizabeth Pitcher
red mail Welch/Welsh/Pilsdon/Marshwood/Whitchurch
I am trying to find the parents of Moses Welch. There is alot of speculation! He gave his birthdate as 2 Jan 1812 in Dorset county but did not give parents names. He is listed as "of Marshwood" when he married Harriet Rawlens/Rawlings in 1834 in Whitchurch Canicorum. He had children in Pilsdon.
I am looking for any information on Ellen Quarrell, born about 1837 in Beaminster to Robert and Harriett. My last reference for her is in the 1851 census, working as a servant for John Cake, farmer, at Boarding Bridge, Marshwood.
Jennie Gratten (married name Restorick)
Jennie Restorick adopted Frank Holmes who was born 1913 to Mary Wilkinson Holmes in Nags Head Whitchurch Canonicorum. Jennie reverted to her maiden name Gratten. William George Gratten was her father and they are both buried in Marshwood churchyard. Jennie died 1935 aged 63. William died 1923 aged 88. Has anybody got any information on any of them?
red mail Hannah Cossens (born c1801)
I am seeking information on the family of Hannah Cossens, who was born in Marshwood in about 1801. She married James Cornelius of Chard on 3 November 1835 at Chaffcombe.
