red mail Rockett
I'm looking for the death of John Rockett b 1798 Hawkchurch and married Elizabeth Baker in 1820, WoottonFitzpaine. They had 8 children Caroline, 1822,Jane 1824, John 1826, James Baker 1828, Thomas 1831, Sarah 1835, John (my grandfather)1837 and Mary 1840. In the 1841 census, Elizabeth is alone with Prudence, 15, Sarah 6,John 4 and Mary 1. I would assume that John has died and in the 1851census, Elizabeth is a widow.I've hunted high and low for a death but can only find a John Rockett d 1849 Axminster.Any help would be most welcome. red mail Samuel LARCOMBE
I am looking to trace the ancestors of Samuel LARCOMBE, born 1843 in Hawkchurch. His birth certificate states father's name as John Larcombe and mother Mary, nee Morey who was also born in Hawkchurch around 1826 according to the 1871 census for Axminster. This does not tie up with other people's research and published trees which give the father's name as John born Chard in 1803 and the mother's name as Bridget, nee Morey born Chardstock around 1814.
