red mail Clouter Cottage
I would be grateful for any information about Clouter Cottage in Yealmpton parish. In 1732 the occupier was John Clouter.
I am carrying out research on Andrew Treays b Yealmpton circa 1799 and his son Arthur Treays b Plymouth circa 1829. Andrew and Arthur moved to Deptford London where they later married and had family. There appears to be nothing in the IGI about the birth details of either Andrew or Arthur. I know that Andrew married Emily Jane Membrey at Bermondsey 1839. She does not appears not to have been Arthur's mother. Who was? A Devon woman? I note one member suggesting that Andrew's father was also called Andrew. I am left with a big mystery and if anyone can shed light on this I would be most grateful
Nathaniel Freeman or Uncle Nat as we knew him was my grandfather Samuel's brother. All during my childhood and later in my teens we had a photograph of him on our wall on horseback and in uniform including a pith helmet when he served in the Boar War.He was born in Yealmpton Devon 1876. When my mother moved house we either lost or misplaced the photo. I would love to find some-one in the family who has the same photo and would be kind enough to let me have a copy.
