I would like to share information regarding the Summers and Tucker family who lived in and around Offwell, Hemyock and Culmstock. My Grandmother gave me a number of the Lace bobbins her aunts Ruth and Dinah used, they were Summers and their mother, Elizabeth, was born a Tucker. I have quite an extensive file on my Grandma's family ( Elizabeth Ellen Palk and David Summers) but am confused about the Tuckers who seem to have intermarried. Any additional information would be most helpful and gratefully received.
red mail Offwell - Richards
Walter Hammacott Richards, farmer at West Colwell Barton, Offwell early 1900s to 1920s. Also his sons Albert and Percy Richards also farming in Offwell area up to 1950s, and any descendants.
I am trying to find out about my GGG grandfather's ancestry. His name was Thomas Daymond and he married Mary Eveleigh in 1853 approx. According to census entries, Thomas was born in Offwell in 1824. I believe his parents were Joseph and Mary. However - a lot of research has led to confusion. There are records of a Thomas Daymond, son of Joseph and Mary, who was born in 1825 in Bovey Tracy. I do not think this is the same person. This person was the son of Mary Sercombe - for whom there is much information online. Some trees I have had access to have shown both Thomas's in the same family, as brothers. Since both survived to adulthood and had children, I think this is unlikely. If you can help in anyway, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you. Julie
