I'm researching the Richards and Cole families. John Richards married Elizabeth Cole on 11 June 1785 at Kingsteignton. They had least five children John,William,Mary, James and my GGGgrandmother Elizabeth born December 1803. Elizabeth Cole (born 1761} was the daughter of George and Elizabeth Cole nee Carnell who were married on 8 July 1756 at Kingsteignton. Any information on these families appreciated.

My mother, joan McIntyre 1929 and her brother harold 1927 stayed at Blindwell cottages FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS in the eaRLY 1930'S. The local chemist had a photo enlarged of my mother and placed in his window. harold had his tonsils out whilst there. His father Harold J McIntyre was a hard court constuctor.Their mother ( my nan) was called Rose or (Lily) The local land owner (big house) near cottages, took a shine to my mother and asked to adopt her. Does anyone have any information or memories about this time or does anyone remember them. WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU. THEY HAILED FROM SOUTH lONDON AND RETURNED THERE ABOUT 1935. Many thanks

I have a George PHILLIPS marrying Mary STEVENS on 31 Aug 1823 at St Peters, North Tawton, Devon, though they later lived at Kingsteignton (from about 1827 onwards). George and Mary PHILLIPS had at least eight children, and all but the first two were born at Kingsteignton. Other associated surnames are CAUNTER, TOTHILL, WHITE, CANE, PERKINS, QUICK, etc.

Hello. I am researching the surname BEARDON, particularly if they are from Devon, Wolborough, Newton Abbot, Kingsteignton. I would especially like to identify these three Beardons that I discovered buried under the floor of a church, St Mary's at Wolborough. The stone reads: John Beardon died 1638 aged 29, Alice Beardon (his mother) died 1664 aged 83, and John (grandchild of John) died 1660. Any info or advice greatly appreciated!

It would appear that my gt gt grandmother died at the Poor House or Poor Houses in Kingsteignton, Devon at the end of 1899. Does anyone have any information about where this house/houses would have been. Thank you
Richard Moist married Mary Ann Counter in 1893. They had a daughter Beatrice aged 5 years on the 1901 census. Both Richard and Beatrice were born in Kingsteignton and Mary Ann was born in South Tawton. Richard's father may have been Henry Dicker Osborn (e). Information about this family would be very welcome.

Captain Douglas Percy Lovejoy married Gillian Heather Whiteway-Wilkinson in May 1955. He lived in Plymton (Plymouth) She lived at Vicars Hill, Kingsteighton. Her father was Reginald Charles Furneaux Whiteway-Wilkinson, who died in 1997. I would very much like to make contact with Douglas or Gillian. Douglas paternal great grandmother is my great great great Aunt, Fanny Lydia Browne.
