We are researching the ancestors of James Mingo. Born, Hawkerland, Colaton Raleigh circa 1830. As yet we cannot place him for certain in any Mingo family. in 1861 he was an unmarried butler living in at Barncoose, Redruth, Cornwall. By 1881 he had married Hanna Kirkin and was living near Caerhays Castle where he was also a butler. We believe that our Gt uncle the grandson of James Mingo, married Clara Mingo, the grand daughter of James' brother George Mingo of C.R. Any Mingo information most welcome.

Spelling for "Colaton Raleigh" is shown as "Colyton Rawleigh" in A GENEALOGICAL GAZETTEER OF ENGLAND. It is 3-1/4 miles west of Sidmouth, Devon.
