I am looking for any connection between Thornes of Chulmleigh and either the surname of Kearney or Govier. Any time line is acceptable. An Atrill connection to the surnames is another possibility. Thanks for any hints. Roger

red mail Frederick Woolway
I am looking for information on Frederick Woolway, born 1888 in Chulmleigh Devon. In 1911 he was stationed at the royal navy barracks in Portsmouth. He was single. His name appears on my father's birth certificate in 1912. The mother's name was Nellie Woolway, nee Woolway. There is no marriage certificate for their marriage, although he does marry someone else later on. Is it just coincidence that these 2 people had the same name ?
William Ernest Atrill Thorne was born in Chulmleigh, 1923, to Richard and Violet Irene May (Atrill) Thorne. Wm. married Pamela Joan Smith of Brentford, Middlesex, in 1946. I can find no death certificate for Wm. and would like to make contact with a family member or someone familiar with the family. Contact has been made. Thanking all.
red mail WEBBER - STEER
I am eager to add to my knowledge of my maternal grandmother, FANNY WEBBER (nee STEER) 1868 (Chawleigh) - 1944 (Chulmleigh). She married Arthur James WEBBER. They lived briefly in Exeter, but Chulmleigh is the place that her children grew up in. I have a good record of the children, who included my mother, Florence (Florrie) although there are still gaps. But the biggest gap for me is that I cannot trace anything of Fanny's family in Chawleigh - the STEERS. If anyone can help, I would be very grateful. Norman.
