red mail Barnardo Boy/Farm Boy
In the 1930's Frederick F Cheesbrough was sent by Dr Barnado in Durham to a farm in the Burrington area. We think the farm may have been Upcott Farm. Fred stayed on the farm until he was called up into the army in WW2.Does anyone remember him? Is the farm still there? We think he went to a wedding 23 April 1940 at St George's Church , George Nympton, between Eva Rottenbury and Mr Elworthy, they may have had a daughter named Ruby later on.We are Fred's family and just wondered about this period of his life, where he grew from a child into a young man.
