red mail Sampson DAWE & Joan BLANCHARD
Sampson was actually born in Meavy (baptized Feb 1675 to Phillip & Abigail) but lived at Buckland Monachorum where he and his son Sampson were both tanners. Sampson Snr married twice, firstly to Marina FOOT, secondly to Dorothy LEAN nee POLLARD. Son Joseph married Elizabeth CROSSMAN and lived at Hellingtown (Elizabeth has a wonderful skull and crossbones headstone in the churchyard at Buckland Monachorum). Love to hear fom any direct male line DAWE from this family who may be persuaded to join the DAWE Surname DNA project to aid exploration of how the assorted DAWE families of South West Devon may be related. There are several DAWE families I've not yet tied to Sampson, but given their family names and place data, they have to "fit" somewhere. Regards Lorna
