red mail John Millman
John Millman was my grandfather. I believe that he was born in Bridestowe on 24th December 1859. I have been unable to find a birth record in this name. Born and raised in the Bridestowe area John crossed over to South Wales where he first married in 1880 and then again in 1898. I am concerned that I have been unable to find this man by the name John Millman in Bridestowe in the time 1859 - 1880. I wonder if perhaps he changed his name when moving from Devon to Wales. If I cannot locate him in Devon as John Millman then I shall have to assume this to be the case. Any information will be much appreciated.

red mail Drake, William and Mary
They lived in Bridestowe for about 3 years. They had two sons baptised there, John in 1808 and Thomas in 1811. Where did they come from and move on to? I suspect William was a jobbing labourer so I wondered if there are any old village records showing rentals paid for cottages? Also are there any records of pupils at the village school at that time? If anyone can help I would be most grateful.Thank you.
