Henry Pott living with Froggatt family
My great grandfather Henry Pott(s) aged 5, is on the 1851 census at Ironville Row, Alfreton, living as a "visitor" with James Froggatt, his wife Sarah and children Eliza, Hannah and Harriet. John England was tried at the Derby assizes on 19/3/1812 - originally he was sentenced to death - as his 2 partners in crime were John received a reprieve and was sentenced to life in Australia as a convict - Hopefully any one researching John England aged 29 when sentenced will relise that he didn't die.. He was placed on the holding vessel "Captivity" before being shipped in the convict ship "Fortune" He arrived in Port Jackson on the 11/6/1813 In 1817 he applied for a mitigation of his sentence - and later was pardoned John married Anne Reilly on the 1st May 1820 St Johns Church of England, Parramatta Nsw. - I have full details if you want a copy Hope this helps

They had five children in UK, located christening records in St Thomas Church.1841 Census shows family living in Brampton Parrish. Can anyone help me with my search for the surname of Bearder/Beardow at all? I am looking for anyone with the name of Edward Beardow or Bearder in their family tree.The Edward Beardow I am seeking was married to an Hannah Smith on the 25th Nov 1857. He was 21yrs old she was 19yrs. His fathers name is given as John Beardow (deceased) on the certificate of marriage--witness,s were Thomas Barker and Elizabeth Milington.They were married in the Holloway Wesleyan Reform Chapel in the district of Belper.I am seeking anyone who knows these two Beardow men as I believe them to be my G G Grandad and G g g Grandad.In the 1861 census Edward and Hannah and 2 children were living in Alfreton. - I think this lady may be my GG Grandmother. I know my GG Grandfather, Thomas Slater married a Mary ??? in the Alfreton area about 1830. There were several Thomas Slaters married about the same time but the one who married Mary Tagg in Dec 1830 in Alfreton sounds the likeliest. If anyone knows anything about her and could provide information such as her father's name and/or that of her children it would help to confirm it. Thomas's three eldest sons were born in Alfreton, Somercotes and Riddings before they left the area.

I am seeking info on the DAWES surname. I believe that my g.g.grandma HANNAH BEARDER (NEE SMITH) lived with a man named JAMES DAWES and had children with him although she never married him they are together on all census records between 1871 and 1901. Childrens names were Lydia/Robert/Samuel/Joseph/Sarah/John.Some of these children had the middle name of DAWES though not named on birth certificates with James as father.Robert and Sarah (BEARDER SURNAME) married MARY DOODY AND JOHN THOMAS KEMP.
