red mail Watermillock - Melfell House Farm
My great great great grandfather Christopher Goulding is shown on the 1861 census as farming 300 acres whilst living at Melfell House. I'm assuming that he would be renting this property and land and was wondering where would be the best place to search to find out these details and also find out what he was farming on those 300 acres. Thanks.
red mail Jackson/Bulman
John Jackson and Elizabeth Bulman were married in 1872. I am trying to find more about their family. Elizabeth had an illegitimate son Reginald (186) and she had two further sons to John - Thomas (1873) born in Stapleton, Cumberland and Samuel J (1875) - birth registered in Wetherall, Cumberland. I would like to know when John and Elizabeth died and also what happened to Thomas and Samuel in later life. Can anyone help please

red mail Dent
I'd love to chat with anyone who has links to the following family: John DENT (1788-1866) and Mary NICHOLSON (1789-1867) were married in Watermillock in 1814 and their children were all born there: John (1816, Greenah), Mary (1818, Croft Head), Jane(1820, Croft Head), Ann (1823, Croft Head), Margaret (1825, Croft Head) and Joseph (1833, Croft Head). John DENT (Snr) was a tenant farmer of Croft Head and Back Rigg - land owned by Joseph THWAITES. John DENT's father John DENT (1750-1831) and mother Mary BEWLEY (1750-1830) were also tenant farmers, of Land Ends in Watermillock. I'm not sure when they moved there but it was after the birth of their youngest son John in 1788 at Dalebottom in St Johns in the Vale, and 1829 when they were listed in the 'Principal Inhabitants of Cumberland' information as living at Land Ends.
