i am searching for the origin of John Mason who married, aged29, Anne Carruthers at Dalston ,January 1805 and lived at Bridge End Sebergham. His occupation was bleacher. They had sons,William, Thomas and John.

John Reid was born in Welton hamlet in 1782 and baptized at Sebergham parish church 01 Sep 1782. His parents were William and Mary Reid, no suitable marriage for this couple in the Cumbria Marriage Index. Also no other children for this couple baptized at Sebergham. In 1785 a Mary Reid of Cardew hamlet was buried at Dalston church 13 April. In 1788 a William Reid (b.c.1755) widower, married Isabella Burns at Torpenhow church. Family tradition says that William and Mary came from Scotland. Any info on this couple gratefully received.

My great uncle, Robert JEFFERSON, returned from NZ to the JEFFERSON family farm of Bulman Hill, Sebergham where he was born in 1837. Robert married Annie, born 1865, the daughter of the then present owner, John and Susanna DOWTHWAITE and brought her to NZ. Robert was the son of Benjamin JEFFERSON and Sarah GORDON. Any contacts for the siblings of Benjamin, son of Robert JEFFERSON and Elizabeth SIMPSON?
