any body know this name seems like my grandmother MARGARET SMITH B 1857 had strong connections with him. there was a child i think called HERBERT SMITH b 1885 , his son my father called KENNETH CAMBELL SMITH story goes the name CAMBELL is a family name ? Also told THORNTON STANLEY FRANKS was 2nd lieutenant Royal surrey regiment HE Went to Cambridge university as did HERBERT SMITH ! Searching for a family from Cornwall with the name MATHEWS .They were a building company I believe. 1800/1900s .My Grandmother that passed away in 1974 in her 80,s was Margarita Evelyn MATHEWS before she married my Grandfather and became COMYNS .I believe that she had at least a brother and maybe more. Bunt and Trudgian families
I am research the Bunt line from St Dennis, Cornwall, and my 2 x gt grandfather (Elijah Bunt) had a daughter Phoebe Grace Bunt who married Herbert Arthur Trudgian in Nov 1919 in St Dennis. They emigrated to Australia in June 1923. His parents were Thomas Vian Trudgian and Maria Louise Arthur. Herbert and Phoebe had 2 children, Douglas Trudgian who was born and died in 1924 in Lithgow, NSW, and Vera b 1925 - who always spelt her name differently as Vera TrudgEOn. I have only been able to research Vera up to 1972 as it's just too recent, but Vera and her father Herbert visited their families in Cornwall in May 1956. We are trying to find the link to the other Trudgeon as we are both descended from an Anthony Trudgian. We also have a lot of Trethewey in our line as well.(3) Many thanks Suzanne

I am seeking relatives of my great grandmother Harriet Agnes Peters (nee Greenslade) who married William Henry Peters (born 1865) of Truro and had one daughter, Edith Florence May Peters in London in 1894, Harriet died probably in 1895. She might be the one listed as deceased in Paddington in 1895 and born in 1958. William Henry was as newspaper compositor. I am rapidly building a family tree and have got the Peters side back in 1830 and found relatives in Truro. I have a massive amount of info I can pass on as well.

I'm hoping for some info about my Gtx4 Grandfather, Richard Parsons. He was a farmer in Tremaine in 1841 and possibly before that. I believe he married Elizabeth ?Bray, possibly in North Petherwin. Richard had a son, also Richard who was born c1806 and died at Fuges, Week St Mary on 15/11/1882 (poss 15/9/1882). The son Richard married Jane Trease at Egloskerry church on 26/4/1832. They had eleven children including Jane Trease Parsons (1834-1872), who eventually married John Gilbert on 9/11/1858 at Whitstone. Their daughter Hannah was my great-grandmother. Both my father's parents - Edmund Hill and Hattie Penna - were probably born in the late 1800's and/or early 1900's in Cornwall and came to America, settling in Ironwood, Michigan. Hattie passed away around 1950 and Edmund passed away around 1959 or 1960. Am looking for any relatives of Edmund or Hattie currently living in England. He married Mary Hambley who was born 30 Sept 1838 and died in Nanstallon 19 Feb 1919. They had ten children: the fifth born was Mary Ellen Hugo my great-grandmother who immigrated to the US in 1890 with her sister Emily. He died on 4 Dec 1905 and is buried in the Carmenellis Cemetery in Carnkie. He married Ann Collins (born ~1831) and she died 21 March 1912, also buried in Carmenellis Cemetery. They had five children ... the oldest was Edwin born 11 June 1863 ... he is my great grandfather. William and Elizabeth's son, Thomas Edwards (born 4/22/1825) married Sarah Rogers. Thomas Edwards came to America (approx) 1847 and built a home in Los Angeles, CA in 1882. Immigrated to the U.S. Philip was a tin miner; landed first in Michigan and then North Dakota outside of Minot where they had 13 children including Alfred father of Harold and Duane Cocking. As far as I can establish my family tree consists of Sampson Kellow ( also shown as Kelly or Kelley in some LDS entries) 1782/1824 born in Cornwall. Married Catherine Michell in 1807 in Gwennap. They had several children including Benjamin Kellow 1809/1851 who married Eliza Wasley 1n 1838 in Kea. One of their children was John Francis Kellow 1848/1902 who married my grandmother Emily Woolcock 1867/1951 in Australia in 1893. Emily Woolcocks parents were born in Twyardeth. John Woolcock 1839/1891 and Mary Ann Sincock 1867/1918. They were married in 1861 in St Austell and came to Australia in about 1863. Also I am trying to establish a connection with Jennifer Tippett who married James Kellow 1787/1841 in Padstowe in 1807.

Ministered around South Australia, settled in the Pentland Hills. Had children including Frederick (later a S A judge & ? became knighted) Percival (owned clothing & fabric stores, married twice, second wife Jessie Linacre). William also helped start the Methodist Church in Australia. Travelled with Rev Richard Lang and W. Wesley Finch.
I am trying to trace the parents of Richard Henry Walters DOB c1857 and Joseph Eustace Walters DOB c1859. From information so far it appears they were miners in Cornwall. I believe they emigrated to South Australia to a town called Moonta when the children were young. Their mother may have had the maiden name of Eustace as this name has been used extensively as a christian name in the following generations.

I am looking for Thomas Williams. He left England on Feb. 18, 1717 and arrived in Boston, Mass. on April 17, 1717. He was a physician and taught Latin. He soon moved to Georgetown, ME. It is stated that he said, "I left England while the gooseberries were in blow; the snow was still deep when I got to Boston; I longed for England then and many time after." If anyone has any infomation on him, please let me know. All I know is that he came from England. I don't know what part of England, though.

Searching for info on the ARTHUR or ARTHURS family of Cornwall. John Arthur b. 1773 England married Mary Ann Robins in St. Denys, Cornwall in 1810. She was born in Cornwall in 1785 & both John & Mary Ann’s parents names are unknown. John was a discharged Soldier from the Royal Sappers & Miners in Britain. He & his wife Mary Ann along with their 7 children, all born in Cornwall between 1813 & 1828 arrived in Canada & settled in York (Toronto) in about 1832. Sometime about Oct. 1832 he was given a land grant of a parcel of Land in the Township of Innisfil in the County of Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. The family settled in the village of Shanty Bay where they spent the remainder of their days until their passing in 1863 & 1867.Their son Henry Haughton Arthur b. 1813 married Isabella Webster in 1843 in Shanty Bay, Ontario, Canada. can anyone help please ? looking for a Mary, Sampson and Elizabeth Sandercock. Mary born in South Letherwin and her siblings in Frewen. On the 1881 census she is 21 and a widow her name is now Ruse and she has 2 boys.Sampson and her sister now called Elizabeth Wilson are here as well. They are living in Ecclesfield, Yorkshire. He came to S.A 1909+-. Frederick Harris Married Ada Matthews in the September, 1910 Redruth, Cambourne area in Cornwall.I have established that Frederick John Harris's Father's name was Frederick John Harris as well and lived in Pool and worked on the mines. Witnesses at the Marriage were William Charles Richards and Eliza Jane Matthews (nee Bawden) Ada Penrose's parents were James Matthews/Mathews born 1862 and Eliza J. Bawden. James' father was Robert Mathews born 1835. (Roberts'other children were Robert, Elizabeth, William, Annie and Albert.) My dad's eldest Sister Dorothy May was born in St Just + - 1911 Fred J. (Junior) my dad's brother born in Redruth 1912. Ada's parents lived in Redruth at Innes/Inys? road in 1910 my dad always used to talk about Innes road. My dad also chatted about Plymouth he was born in South Africa. Dad was a Carpenter by trade. Fred Junior an engineer James the younger brother was a blacksmith and they all worked on the Mines in this area. Ada Penrose's Mother was Eliza Jane (Bawden) & father was James Penrose Matthews. His father was Robert Matthews born Penzance or Madron. That is all the info I have. Could anyone assist with any information please.

The Mitchell’s we’ve traced so far to Cornwall in England. Cambourne and Qwinear. My Great Great Grandmother Ann Mitchell (Stevens) was born in 1839 in Gwinear, and her husband William Henry Mitchell my Great Great Grandfather was born in Cambourne in 1836. They are said to of had a total of 10 children of which my Great Grandfather Joseph Howard Mitchell - born 1876, was one. He is said to be the youngest. The rest, as far as we know, are as follows:- Mary Melinda - dead before 1896? Ellen Jane - born 1861? Allen Steven - dead before 1876? Ellen - born 1864 Annie - born 1869 Elizabeth - born 1871 Charles Woodall - born 1874 and Joseph Howard. Because of the very small script writting on the certificate that I got this information from, some names and dates may not be correct. This is what we are now seeking to find out.

William married at the age of 21 years, to Ann Stevens on the 14th of September 1857. William died in 1889, in Maldon, Victoria, Australia aged 53 years. Frances (Fanny) married John Spargo of Cornwall April 20, 1878, in the parish of Aston county of Warwick in 1878. The two emmigrated to the US with their 11 month old daughter Frances Mary in September of 1879. Frances Foxall had a rich history that involved widowhood and remarriage to John Spargo's Brother Nick in 1884. Nick's disappearance in 1899/1900 left Frances and daughter Marry in Waterbury, Connecticut, USA. Mother and daughter returned to Frances' family in Bridgnorth 1899/1900.
