Hi, I'm looking for information on James Thomas Nicholas 1907-1984. He had 3 brothers, uter, dick and Jack and the latter two drowned after being swept off rocks while fishing. I'm trying to trace the Nicholas line and don't know who their father (my great grandfather) was.
John Wearne and the Levant Mine disaster
Hi, I'm hoping to identify which John Wearne died in the Levant Mine disaster of 1919. My great-grandmother, Elizabeth Wearne, daughter of Peter Harvey Wearne and Margery Grenfell, had a brother called John Wearne, who was born in 1889, making him 29 or 30 at the time of the disaster. This matches the age of the John Wearne who died. Are they the same person? Any help gratefully received.

Thomas & Emily Knapp (Bosorne)
Thomas Valentine Knapp (with 2nd wife Emily Amelia née Suett) retired to 'The Bungalow, Bosorne' some time after 1901, and died there in 1924, after a long military service overseas with the Royal Marine Artillery and then a period working at the Metropolitan District Asylum at Caterham. If anyone has any information about him/them and especially the location of 'The Bungalow' (whose garden contained miniature forts and pagodas he built as mementos of his military service) I'd be very pleased to receive it. He was my Great-great Uncle.

red mail Key Family - St Just
My Key ancestors lived in St Just between about 1840 and 1883. Joseph and Sarah (nee Brokenshire) moved there in about 1840 from St Enoder with their 5 children John, Caroline, James Brokensha, Eleanor (Ellen) and Joseph. Joseph was a blacksmith. I am descended from James Brokensha, who maried Jane Ellis in 1856. They had 3 children: Joseph, James Henry and Janey. Jane was later re-married to John Olds. By 1881 they had moved to Frizington in Cumberland, where John became an ironstone miner. Joseph married Matilda Wallis in 1880. They move to Brotton, N.Yorks in about 1883, where Joseph became an iron stone miner. James Henry married Johanna Murley and moved to Millom, Cumberland at about the same time. I would be happy to share informaion about these families.
