red mail William Murphy, Wife Jane, Sons William and Thomas, daughter Ellen - (Clonmult, and Parish - County Cork)
I am searching for information on my GGG Grandfather William MURPHY who arrived in Manchester UK from Cork Ireland with his family, Wife Jane MURPHY both born (c) 1780-1790. Their 2 sons, Thomas born (c) 1814 and William born 1823/4 and daughter Ellen. All Children born in Cork. I am unable to go back further than the 1841 census, finding them in Manchester. Through a DNA match I appear to have found an Elizabeth MURPHY born in Clonmult, Cork to parents Ellen BUCKLEY and Maurice Pat MURPHY. It may be possible that William MURPHY above, and Maurice Pat MURPHY were related. With so many Murphy families my search has been difficult but the DNA match may help. Both sons were described in the 1841 census and apprenticed to a painter. The Murphy line has come down to me and I am struggling to confirm places of residence of the family when in Cork.
red mail Descendents..Patrick Riordan Hanora Riordan ( NEE-Denehy) - (Cloonbannin - County Cork)
I am trying to trace any present day relatives of my grandparents who maybe be living in the Cloonbannin area of North Cork.Sometimes this area was referred to as Cloonbannin cross by my now deceased father. My grandfather was born about 1862,my grandmother i believe 1871.They were married on 25/11/1894 i obtained their marriage details from ST JOHNS R.C.CHURCH DROMTARIFFE (DROMAGH).The wedding was witnessed by a Eugene Denehy and Nora O'connor Hanora's parents were a Daniel and Nora Denehy born 1826/1839,however i have no details of my grandfather's parents, other than his father was a farmer and his name was Patrick. The original cottage where my paternal grandparent raised my father and his siblings has survived and is close to Curtins pub and Cronins garage which my father spoke of in the past. I'm assuming that my grandparents had siblings and and if this is true, hopefully will lead me to a present day "family tie"be it a Riordan or Denehy link.Any help with my search would be appreciated. Daniel

Cronin and Vaughan families in Dromtarriff/Dromagh, County Cork - (Dromagh - County Cork)
Searching for information about the family of Elizabeth Cronin, baptized 26 July 1835 in Dromtarriffe (Drom Tarbh) parish in County Cork, near Dromagh, in a townland called Garranbaun (An Garrán Bán), which had various spellings over the years as anglicized. Wish to confirm that she is my great-grandmother, who emigrated to the US and died in New York City in 1891. She married a James Cullen in NYC, and had 7 children who survived to adulthood. Her parents are listed in her baptismal record as John Cronin and Mary Vaughan, who had at least three other children, baptized in the years indicated: Patrick (1834), Mary (1837), and John (1842). If this is the right family, Patrick also came to the US, living first in NY and later in San Francisco, where he died in 1898, leaving 8 surviving children (his wife was Catherine A. Smith). Their brother John also apparently emigrated, to NYC, and has numerous descendants in upstate NY. Their sister Mary appears to have remained in the parish, where she married Cornelius Fitzpatrick in 1860, and they had at least one child there, Jeremiah (born 1866). I already have the baptismal/marriage records for the people named (where available online), and can supply that info and much info about the families in the US, but would like to learn more about the family in Ireland.

red mail Delay name in Westport, New York - (Kilmurry - County Cork)
In the Catholic Church Cemetery in Westport, New York is the name Sullivan, and the name Murphy. One gravestone is enscribed with the word Cork, as if they were from that County. These Murphys and Sullivans married in to Patrick Delay of Westport, New York, who relocated to Saratoga Springs, New York and worked for the Delaware & Hudson Railroad as the master mason building stone arch bridges. He lived from 1853 to 1918. Were these people from Kilmurry, County Cork? Are they connected to a Patrick Delay who relocated to Wales, where he worked as miner?
red mail Flaherty family of Kilworth and Araglin - (Kilworth, Cill Uird, and Parish - County Cork)
In 1825, James Flaherty Sr., his wife, Mary and their children left Kilworth with the Peter Robinson Settlers to go to Ontario, Canada. This family probably lived in the north part of the parish, close to the Tipperary border, near Araglin. Their son, Patrick Flaherty was born in Tipperary. An elder daughter, Catherine did not go with them, but was married in the Kilworth church and had children baptized there. We would like to connect with other Flaherty researchers in the area of Kilworth parish.
