red mail Cornelius Collins b. ca. 1869 Bandon
My great grandfather, Cornelius Collins, was possibly born in Bandon ca. 1869 to parents, John Collins and Mary Hallihan. He immigrated to Boston around 1890 (possibly with two family members named, John and Daniel Collins). He married Hannah McCusker in Cambridge, MA in 1897 and remained in the Boston area until his death in 1956. I have had a hard time finding any information linking him to Ireland other than his naturalization papers which list his being born in County Cork. I have his parents names from his marriage record. As census records were destroyed and I am in the US, finding further info has proved near impossible. Trying all I can to see if I can find anyone who might recognize a great grand uncle. Thank you.

red mail Catherine Crowley And Cornelius Crowley
My great great grandmother was Catherine Crowley. She was one of the 4,000 Irish famine orphans sent to Australia between 1848 and 1850. Catherine was 14 when she arrived in Australia so she would have been born about 1836. Her father was listed as dead and her mother was living in Bandon. I would like to know about her father. Did Catherine have any siblings? Her time in Australia is well documented but I would really like to know about her family in Bandon.
