red mail O'Donnell / Green family of Cooraclare or Kilmacduane in County Clare, Ireland - (Cooraclare, Cuar an Chlair - County Clare)
I am looking for anyone with information on the O'Donnell family from Cooraclare or Kilmacduane in County Clare, Ireland. Specifically, the family of Martin O'Donnell (born about 1802-died 1848) and Margaret nee Green (born about 1808 died about 1877). I do not have any further information about Margaret or the Green side of the family. Martin and Margaret O'Donnell nee Green had to abandon their young children in Ireland to be able to emigrate to Victoria, Australia, but some years later were able to bring these children out to their own small farm near Geelong. It is unclear if O'Donnell or Green relatives took care of the O'Donnell children when their parents moved to Australia. Martin and Margaret O'Donnell had the following children, Malachy, Martin, Bridget, John, Patrick, Michael, Ann, Francis, Joseph, Mary, Margaret and Andrew. Their youngest child was Andrew and their eldest was Malachy who went to the states and never came to Australia after their second eldest son, who was Joseph, left to go to Stockholm in California. Malachy left for California after Martin died in a horse riding accident in 1848 in Geelong, to fetch Malachy from the US and bring him back to Australia but although he found him neither ever came back to Australia. If you have any information about the O'Donnell or Green family I would be keen to hear from you. Deborah.
