red mail O'Rourke/Eagan or Egan
My great grandfather Michael O'Rourke (born 1838) was a grocer in Newmarket-on-Fergus. His wife was Ellen Eagan (born 1841). Most of their children emigrated to Boston. My grandfather, Daniel J. O'Rourke (born 1880) was one of them. His son Francis took over the grocery after his death sometime in the period between the 1901 and 1911 census. I am eager to learn more about this family of O'Rourkes. I was always told that I was a direct descendent of the O'Rourkes of Breffney.
red mail Hourigan/Connerty
I am looking for anyone researching the Hourigans. My great Grandfather was Michael Hourigan and Great Grandmother Bridget Connerty. They had 12 children, a couple died very young. My Grandmother was Anne Hourigan b 2/5/1877. She had a sister Hanora b. 1875 who married Thomas Lane, a British soldier, in Athlone in 1900. They then moved to Beaconsfield, England. My Grandmother Anne was supposed to have married a William Lyons who was a solicitor's clerk in Limerick, and she bore him 2 children Nellie my mother b 4/12/1905 and Patrick b 17/3/1915. We have never found a marriage certificate. Does anyone have any info on this family. Sue

red mail Fitzgerald / Neville / Burke
My g-greatgrandfather was James Fitzgerald.I have been told that he came from the town / village of Newmarket. I have also been told that at least one of his sons was born in Ennis/ Ennes. The following is a basically that branch of my family. Nora / Nellie Neville married Patrick (possibly James) Fitzgerald. They had a son James Fitzgerald who married Delia (Bedelia?) Burke. Delia was the daughter of Patrick Burke and Bridget Flaherty (Farity?). Delia had a sister named Mary who lived with James and Delia for a time in Massachusetts. James Fitzgerald and Delia Burke had nine children, all born in Ireland; Honoria Mary (called Nora), Ellen Mary (called Nellie), Catherine Gertrude (called Katie), Francis Patrick, Joseph, John T., James F., Mary (called Moll), and Edward. James, Delia and their children immigrated to Massachusetts during the 1880's, but their son Edward had already died in Ireland prior to the family's immigration. If anyone knows of this family, any information will be appreciated. Thank You
