red mail Captain Malachy O'Donoghue
He left an address in a notebook "Michane St., Carrigaholt" after leaving Ireland in the 1840s We'd like to know if such an address exists and whether he lived there before migrating to Australia.
red mail Scanlon/Donlon - Carrigaholt Co. Clare
My GGgrandfather is Patrick Scanlon from Carrigaholt, Co. Clare Ireland. He was born about 1841. He married Mary Francis Donlin (I think her mother was Hannah)and emigrated to America and died in Chicago in 1908. He had 7 children in Chicago. I am looking for any of my Scanlon relatives in Co. Clare Ireland.
I am transcribing the Carrigaholt St Mary's Parish Baptism & Marriage Registers from 1852-1878 approx. My great-great-grandparents were : about 1849-1852, Patrick Ginnane married his neighbour Mary Murray(from the Conor Murray line, not the Pat Murray line). Their 1st born (approx.1850-2) was JOHN GINNANE who emigrated via The Clyde, Glasgow to New Zealand on the RAKAIA in 1877. Daniel was born 1855 but died 1874. Edmond(Ned) was born 1859, married Honor McMahon, and inherited the Rahona East farm when both his parents died in 1878. There were several other siblings, whose descendants I would like to contact. Most of Ned's 10 children went to USA or Shanghai. There are more distantly-related Ginnane & Murray families of 'cousins' still living on the farms in the Townland, and I suspect the female lines are still there, although my male direct lines have died out in Co.Clare. I can search for any Baptism & Marriage information, although the handwriting is very difficult. I would like to trace the older Parish Register Books from 1833, when the current church was built.
