Prestbury Cheshire
PRESTBURY. It is one of those places that north countrymen are proud to show to their southern cousins, and truly this old town within a mile or two of Macclesfield is altogether charming.

red mail Stevenson
My ancestors John Stevenson (c1793-1839), a cordwainer, and Ann Wood (1800-1882) married at Prestbury 05.12.1819. John was said to be from Macclesfield, and Ann was from Horton Staffs. Whereas I have good info about Ann, I have none about where John was from beyond the reference to Macclesfield on the Prestbury parish record of the marriage. Has anybody any information about John or clues as to where to find him, please?
