red mail Aspden Aspen Aspin Hargraves
My GGGrandfather Thomas Aspden is on the 1871 census for Hazel Grove (Stockport) with wife Ann and three daughters. In 1881 He has moved to Torkington (Hazel Grove)and is with two youngest daughters Ann Aspin and Betty Aspen. On the census they ofcourse all have same Aspin spelling for surnames. Thomas listed as a widower - I have searched line by line Death entries from quarter before the 1871 census to the quarter after the 1881 and cannot find a death - nor a burial or such listed. Does the name Ann Aspden / Aspin / Aspen nee Hargraves mean anything to anyone. It is a complete mystery
