red mail Florence Poole born 1885 crewe
I know its a long shot but myself and my sister are researching our family tree and we cant find any information matching our Great Grandmother Florence Poole. She was born in Crewe in or around 1885. Maybe to parents Eliza and James Poole. Then went on to marry my Greatgrandfather William Henry Smith. They settled in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and have 6 maybe 7 children, one being my Grandfather William Henry Smith born 1902. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you
red mail Thomas PHYTHIAN / Stockton
My Grandfather Thomas was the son of Anne Elizabeth PHYTHIAN. In 1861 Anne Elizabeth PHYTHIAN was living at 5 Victoria Street, Monks Coppenhall, Crewe. She gave birth to Thomas out of wedlock in 1866 and later married David Stockton. 1881 Census lists Thomas as the stepson of David Stockton. Anne Elizabeth PHYTHIAN's Father was also a Thomas PHYTHIAN and I understand he was a Grocer in the Crewe area, perhaps the markets in Victoria Street. If anyone has any information on Thomas PHYTHIAN Senior, or his daughter Anne Elizabeth PHYTHIAN or her child Thomas PHYTHIAN/Stockton, I would be eternally grateful. Regards, Carol Add on: At this stage I'm still trying to establish that THOMAS PHYTHIAN STOCKTON 1866 is really my Grandfather. I cannot find any record of of him in England after he was baptised at age 14 years with his step sister Sarah J Stockton and step father David Stockton as witness. This is the link I need to break down the mystery. Thanking you in advance for any assistance.

I'll start the search with James Cooke. He was born in Sandbach 1852, the son of James Cook(e), Bricklayer, born Alsager 1813. James the son first appeared in the 1861 Census living at Union St Sandbach. He married Jane Burgess in 1875 and he worked as a Joiner at the Crewe Works for many years. He died around 1933. His children were Harry (1875), Thomas (1877), Harriet Ada (1879), Ernest (1882), Ellen and Mary (twins, 1884), and John (1886). There may have been a deceased child, Annie (1881).
